With the summer heat it’s a challenge to keep your make up from melting during the holiday festivities and beyond…. Aside from the traditional waterproof options here are a few products and ideas that maybe you weren’t aware of to help your make up stay put all summer long.

In general a less is more approach may be best so if at all possible instead of using a foundation try concealer only where needed.  Here are two ideas for waterproof concealing one is a drugstore brand the other a department store brand.

NYX makes a waterproof concealer worth trying.  Apply where needed and tap it with your finger to blend.

And a favorite of mine is the Lancome Effacernes Waterproof Undereye Concealer.

Benefit makes Bene tint which can be used on cheeks and lips as a stain/tint.  If you haven’t worked with a make up product like this before test it on the back of your hand to see how it blends and get a feel for it first.  It’s always better to layer a product on in lighter layers than to apply too much on and have to try to remove it.  Be sure that your skin is moisturized with an oil free moisturizer before applying a stain/tint like this because it will help you to blend it.  Otherwise it may be blotchy when you blend it. You can play up your eyes and find many waterproof or water resistant options in mascara and eye shadows.   Eyeliners in liquid and pencil form from most brands have a waterproof option as well.

Stila has some colors in liquid eyeliner pen that are waterproof

and Lancome Art Liner comes in traditional colors like Black, Green, Purple but also in some new fun colors like Pink, Gold and Bronze and they will stay put even if you swim in them.
